Georgian billionaire and former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is known, for his bizarre love to a centenarian trees. He searches for them all over the country, uproots and moves them to his private park on the Black Sea coast.
Recently, yet another eucalyptus tree left its home.

The couple from Adjara is about to celebrate 76th wedding anniversary

Turmanidze family is the clear example of true love, that withstands the time. 95 year old Khasan and 94 year old Zeqie Turmanidze, are about to celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 20th, 1941. The couple has 162 descendants. They have: 8 children, 37 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 31 great- great- grandchild.

St. Tamara’s day

May 14th, Georgia celebrates St. Tamara’s day. She was the ruler of Georgia from 1184 to 1213 : the peak of country’s Golden Age. She was called the king Tamara, since it was thought, that the word queen, would belittle her image and power.



Tbilisi Auto Museum welcomes restored vehicles of XXth century

Tbilisi Auto Museum is an interesting place, where visitors can see many unique exhibits. Today, Presentation of newly renovated “Gas” 4 (1933) and “Gas” M1 (1936) was held in there. The restoration of cars took about two years. It should be noted, that “Gas” 4 was the first Soviet pickup and there are only 4 copies of this kind.
